The Town of Pierrepont is a quaint community located in St. Lawrence County. Pierrepont was established in 1818 and is nestled between the Town of Canton and the Town of Colton. The Town is situated the short distance of 8 miles to Canton and 9 miles to Potsdam.
Population in 2009 was recorded as 2,614.
The boundaries of the Town of Pierrepont includes the hamlet of Hannawa Falls. The hamlet is a busy and diversified section of the Town. Hannawa Falls includes the attractions of Hannawa Pond and Postwood Park Beach which are part of the flow from the Racquette River. Summer months are bustling with activities in these notable sites.
